Glaze kilns filled with fresh, new work are firing as I type. All of that alchemy, potential and becoming excites me. This once/year event is the only time I see certain people in my life and I look forward to catching up and hugging them. The Studio Sale is the biggest party I throw on any given year and it's a blast. I've polled my visiting artists to hear what they're excited about so keep reading!
Tyree Dworak: "I grew up in a household where money was tight and so we all made one another gifts. I think this is where my need to make began. Art is such a personal thing. It can be the perfect gift for someone. I love sharing my artwork and hearing the stories about why a buyer loves a piece. I am looking forward to having that opportunity this weekend!"
Josephine Mette Larsen: "Working on this group of wares which are all attentive to form, function and color has been a true pleasure. It has also been a great counterpoint to the large-scale sculptural work I've been undertaking all Fall in preparation for my solo show next year at The Clay Studio in Phila. Taking a step back and looking at these pieces, I am very much looking forward to sharing this collection with you all on Saturday and Sunday! "
Diane Chrambanis: "I am looking forward to seeing who is drawn to their “must have” piece whether it is mine or another artists."
Jeanine Pennell is excited to see which stories attract which buyers and have conversations with them. Below is a new piece she's bringing.
Stop by this weekend and join us. Here's a link with all the deets.
