As our studio matures here in Frenchtown, we've begun bringing artists in from a distance to teach and give artist talks. Next up: a lifelong ceramic sculptor from Australia. When Lisa had the honor of receiving a residency through NCECA back in 2005, she traveled to the Australian National University in Canberra, Aus to work as a visiting artist in their clay studio for a few months. It was there she met this artist and they became friends. We're thrilled that she has agreed to give a 3-day, hands-on workshop this May 29-31. Although that workshop is full, the slide lecture/pot luck the night before still has seats. Join us on May 28th from 5:30-7:30 to learn about her life in clay. Admission is just $10. Learn more and register HERE.
The images in this post are a few examples of her work which focus on endangered and vanishing species in Australia.

The post about the slide talk and potluck with the visiting Aussie sculptor really shows how art events can bring people together in a relaxed and creative way. I like how it mixes storytelling, food, and community instead of making it feel too formal. While reading, I was also dealing with a packed school schedule, so I used Pay someone to do my Cengage class to stay on track with my online work during that busy week. It helped me manage time better so I could still enjoy reading and learning new things. Moments like these make learning feel more connected to real life.
