This hare is bringing a message in an unopened envelope. The decoration was simultaneously inspired by Pennsylvania German Hex signs and the sacred geometry I’d (then) recently seen on the work of Hilma af Klint’s paintings at the Guggenheim Museum in NYC.
H-24″ x w-7″ x D-6″, 2019. Thrown, sculpted and hand painted with colored slips. Fired to cone 1 in an electric kiln with a custom, satin glaze.
