Have you ever wanted to make your own two-part plaster mold for slip-casting or press-molding but don’t know where to begin? Let this two-day workshop be your introductory guide into this and more advanced mold making techniques and processes! Micah Lewis-Văn Sweezie will lead this workshop and by the end you will have your own plaster mold of your own custom design or a found object. This workshop is open to those with no previous molding experience or knowledge. Micah will cover the basic functions and uses of simple molds, while offering accommodations for everyone’s specific model and mold designs. Custom molds can be a wonderful way to expand your practice and/or production of ceramic wares—experiment with plaster mold making with the help of a mold master in a supportive group setting! Micah Lewis-Văn Sweezie is a ceramic mold maker and sculptor who has been utilizing molded and cast forms within their practice for the last 6+ years. Micah has molded and cast various mediums such as plaster, porcelain, latex, silicone, resin, and bronze.

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION (different cancelation policy due to the nature of students traveling distances) • Cancelations that take place greater than 1 month prior to a start date are fully refundable (minus a $100 admin fee). Those that come in 2-4 weeks ahead of a start-date are refunded by half. Those that come in w/in 2 weeks of a start date are non-refundable with the following exceptions: illness, accident, death in family. Registrants who fall into one of these noted categories are given a credit for a future workshop of the same or greater number of days.
