Course Description
This Workshop meets Friday and Saturday: March 27th and 28th for the construction of the figures. It meets again on April 3rd to address the surface with underglaze and glaze. Through the use of hand building techniques we'll create heads/shoulders in clay. Working in kiln fired paper clay, Jeanine will breakdown the face into sections and give students simple instructions on how to create facial features as well as how to finish a small body and a face pot head. On days 1 and 2, we’ll concentrate on creating the figures (which will be bisque fired during the intervening week). On the 3rd day we will learn underglaze layering techniques as well as painting facial details onto the bisque fired work. A glaze firing will finish the work for students to pick up within a few weeks. The firings, clay, glazes and take-home tutorials are included in the workshop fee. Basic tools are provided by the studio however, a list of additional tools will be emailed from Jeanine.

WORKSHOP CANCELLATION (different cancelation policy due to the nature of students traveling distances) Cancelations that take place greater than 1 month prior to a start date are fully refundable (minus a $100 admin fee). Those that come in 2-4 weeks ahead of a start-date are refunded by half. Those that come in w/in 2 weeks of a start date are non-refundable with the following exceptions: illness, accident, death in family. Registrants who fall into one of these noted categories are given a credit for a future workshop of the same or greater number of days.
