All pots are made from terra cotta (red earthenware). They are glazed with studio mixed (non-commercial), lead-free glazes. Our firings are done in electric kilns where bisque temperatures reach cone 06 (1840° F) and glaze temperatures reach cone 04 (1960° F).
All decoration is hand painted with white and black slip (liquid clay), and appears on every reachable surface (under feet, lids, inside bowls, etc.). Glazing is also hand done with transparent, colored glazes.
We use many production methods. They include: slab-building, throwing, and slip-casting. The casting is done in limited editions. In addition, the cast pieces are individually altered when they come out of their molds and slab-built appendages are hand-applied.
We stand behind all of our work. It is of superior quality in design and materials. All pieces are durable and suitable for everyday use. All items are dishwasher safe, detergent safe and lead free.
